We’re nearly one week away from when the Birmingham Stallions will take on the New Jersey Generals in the inaugural USFL matchup. The game is set to be simulcast on both NBC and FOX, which is the first time in over 50 years since a major event has been shared across networks.
FOX has been ramping up their marketing efforts online, as well as in the television ad space. Earlier this week an ad for the USFL aired during the PGA Masters, further expanding their reach.
With kickoff around the corner, the league is now reaching out to local broadcast affiliates, and also getting into the Easter spirit at the same time. Zach Keilman of The USFL Podcast tweeted out an image earlier today showing a package from the league that was sent to his local affiliate station.
Looks like @FOXSports sent out some @USFL goodies to to the affiliate station I work for 👀 pic.twitter.com/AajDKUcAte

Naturally, this piqued the interest of many fans online all wanting to know what was inside the box. Luckily, we didn’t need to wait very long.

FOX and the USFL have outdone themselves with this one. In the images we see a Easter basket themed promotion for the new league. Inside the USFL football-themes Easter egg were eight eggs for each of the teams.
Needless to say, we think this is going to grab a lot of attention as different stations receive them across the country. The small gesture could go a long way when it comes to getting some extra coverage out of the affiliates.
Plus, it’s always fun to see these types of promotions go a little outside the box. One things for sure, we want one of these in our collection.
