The USFL has had an extremely successful offseason so far, and show no signs of slowing down any time soon. They have officially passed 50 USFL to NFL signings, as two more Pittsburgh Maulers are headed to the NFL.
We’ve seen plenty of USFL alumni ball out in preseason so far (i.e. Chris Odom, DeMarquis Gates). Now, a pair of Maulers will likely see some playing time as well.

Without a doubt, Ramiz Ahmed had one of the strongest legs in the USFL. He was very consistent for Pittsburgh this season, knocking through plenty of important kicks throughout the year.

One of his season highlights came in week eight, against the New Jersey Generals. Ahmed banged through a 61 yard field goal attempt, setting a USFL record. In doing so, he almost sparked a Maulers comeback in the process.

Long field goals became a staple of Ahmed’s season, as he hit a 59 yard attempt just one week later, versus Philadelphia.

Ramiz now heads to the NFL, signing a contract with the Green Bay Packers. Considering Mason Crosby is out for the time being with an injury, Ahmed has an opportunity to do something special in Green Bay.
Had it not been for the national exposure that the USFL provided him with, who knows if this door would have opened for Ahmed.

Devin Hafford, a defensive back for the Pittsburgh Maulers, has signed with the New England Patriots. He didn’t see much playing time at all for Pittsburgh this season, but now heads to the NFL.
The Maulers have impressed in the offseason, sending seven players to the NFL. This goes to show that the USFL had talent across the board, despite the difference in records. Pittsburgh finished 2022 with a 1-9 record – but clearly, they featured some of the league’s best athletes.
It’s fantastic to see so many USFL athletes earning opportunities with the NFL. One of the league’s main goals is to establish itself as a professional option for players who are looking to prove themselves at the next level.

As of right now, they are accomplishing that – and much more. It’s been an incredible offseason for the USFL over the past couple of months, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.
