USFL MVP KaVontae Turpin Signs Three Year Deal With Dallas Cowboys

It’s about time: KaVontae Turpin, the USFL’s MVP this season, has finally made it to the NFL. Turpin was a sensational wide receiver and specialist for the New Jersey Generals in 2022. Now, he takes that next step signing with the Dallas Cowboys.

In the USFL, Turpin put on a show. The Tyreek Hill-esque star led the league in receiving yards, with 540. He was a reliable target for both DeAndre Johnson and Luis Perez all season long.

Despite his size, KaVontae has a knack for finding the football. His speed, agility, and quickness (yes, those are three separate abilities) make him into a valuable weapon for any offense.

In Mike Riley’s scheme with the Generals, Turpin was all over the place. He took end arounds, he returned punts – and most importantly, he did whatever was asked of him. It’s that type of mentality that gets you places, and Turpin is certainly headed in the right direction.

As a specialist, he was spectacular. Turpin took the first punt return to the house in week nine against Michigan. Then, he put the Generals on top in the semi-finals, with an electrifying touchdown that put New Jersey in a position to win the game.

Generally speaking, Turpin was a force to be reckoned with in the USFL. Without a doubt, he can fill multiple roles for the Dallas Cowboys.

This is just another prime example of why spring football matters. Turpin played in the FCF, TSL, and ELF before finding a home in the USFL. Due to his hard work and determination, he has finally achieved his goals of reaching the NFL.
