The USFL Officially Passes 40 NFL Signings With Latest Reports

Every day, we continue to report more positive news surrounding the USFL, its players, and the opportunities they provide for their athletes. Today has been no exception, as the league officially eclipsed 40 players to sign with NFL teams.

Clearly, the USFL’s goal was to be a platform for players to get tape directly in front of NFL front offices. This has been successfully achieved so far, as NFL organizations continue to call up USFL players at rapid speeds.

T.J. Carter | DE, Michigan Panthers

First on our list is T.J. Carter, a defensive end for the Michigan Panthers. He is currently in the process of signing a contract with the New Orleans Saints, according to Aaron Wilson.

Carter had a solid season for the Panthers, racking up 24 tackles and 2.5 sacks. While Michigan struggled as a unit defensively, Carter was consistent week in and week out.

Due to his impressive performances in the USFL, Carter now gets another opportunity to pursue his NFL dreams. He spent a bit of time with Pittsburgh in 2021, but was eventually cut – and found his way into the United States Football League.

Cameron Hunt | Center, Birmingham Stallions

Another Birmingham Stallion is headed to the NFL, as Cameron Hunt signed with the Los Angeles Chargers per Ian Rapoport.

Hunt was a standout center for the Stallions, being a part of the Championship team that hoisted the inaugural trophy. Interestingly enough, Hunt played with Chargers QB Justin Herbert in college, as both were a part of the Oregon Ducks organization.

Now, the two reunite in the NFL – mainly because of the pedestal that the USFL provided Hunt with. He showcased his talents to the world, and is now being rewarded for his efforts.
