BJ Emmons, a running back for the Tampa Bay Bandits, has moved on to the NFL. He signed a contract with the Houston Texans, after successfully getting through the USFL’s 2022 season and having a workout with the team.

Emmons shared the running back role with Juwan Washington, and put up decent numbers for Tampa Bay. He finished the year with 249 yards, and a touchdown on the ground.

While BJ may not have captivated audiences in the way that Darius Victor, or Reggie Corbin did, it was a solid overall season for the young back. He also dealt with an injured offensive line for most of the season, which didn’t help his productivity.
This is not the first time that Emmons will be with an NFL organization. He spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021, but ultimately never saw the football field that season.

After participating in a workout with the Texans, he now finds a home with Houston heading into preseason. If it wasn’t for the national exposure and opportunities that the USFL provided Emmons with, who knows if he would be in this position now.
