Seattle Seahawks Signing USFL Showboats LB Jordan Ferguson

We officially have our 20th USFL to NFL signing. Memphis Showboats linebacker Jordan Ferguson has signed with the Seattle Seahawks, with both Aaron Wilson and Ian Rapoport reporting on it today.

Jordan Ferguson joined the Memphis Showboats during the season, and made an impact in the limited minutes he was given.

Ferguson finished the 2023 USFL season with seven tackles, and two sacks. The Showboats saw dramatic defensive improvements over the year, partially due to some of the additions they made, such as Ferguson.

Jordan Ferguson came into the USFL as a rookie out of Middle Tennessee State. He played quite well there, posting 68 tackles and 8.5 sacks during his senior season.

Now, he will have an opportunity to pursue the NFL dream with the Seattle Seahawks. Interestingly enough, he already spent time with the organization this spring, before his USFL stint. Seattle has looked to the USFL for talent already, having signed Michigan Panthers DE Levi Bell a couple of weeks ago.

Jordan Ferguson is the second Memphis Showboats athlete to sign with an NFL team. TE Daniel Helm signed with the Detroit Lions last week.

Had it not been for the platform – and the national exposure – that the USFL provided him with, who knows if this opportunity would have come along.
