This past weekend the USFL successfully wrapped up their inaugural season. The championship game saw the Birmingham Stallions edge out the Philadelphia Stars to claim the trophy and close things out.
Since then, we’ve learned that the Stallions will receive a championship parade in Birmingham. Considering that fans have supported the Stallions in their city all year, it makes sense to give them a chance to cheer on their team one more time.
All season we’ve been covering the USFL ratings, and the championship is no different. The stands were packed at Tom Benson, but how many tuned in on TV?
Short answer, a lot. FOX pulled in an average of 1.517 million viewers for the big game. Come second only to their debut simulcast that kicked off the season.
Although it was expected, the league has already confirmed a second season. As the USFL looks towards the future, the people in charge must be happy with these numbers.
FOX Sports PR has put out some additional information on the games viewership. Beyong attrracting 1.517M viewers, the broadcast peaked at more than 1.8 million.
