Another Pittsburgh Mauler is headed to the NFL, as Terrell Bonds has signed a contract with the Tennessee Titans. Bonds was a defensive back for the Maulers this season in the USFL, and now takes a leap to the next level.
Bonds was a solid defender for Pittsburgh in 2022. While the team struggled, finishing with a 1-9 record, they did possess quite a bit of talent – and Bonds was no exception. He posted 17 tackles and multiple passes defensed throughout the year.
This isn’t the first spring league action that Terrell has seen. He played with the Memphis Express in the AAF in 2019, before the league ultimately folded after week eight.
Then, Bonds jumped around between the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins, but never saw much playing time. Now, he gets to pursue his NFL dreams with the Titans, because of the impressive performances he had in the USFL.
Interestingly enough, the Pittsburgh Maulers continue to produce NFL-caliber players, despite being the worst team in the league. This just goes to show how deep, and how consistent, the talent was in the USFL this season.
