New Jersey Generals QB Luis Perez Signs With Los Angeles Rams

Luis Perez, quarterback for the New Jersey Generals in 2022, has signed with the Los Angeles Rams. It was announced today that the spring league veteran was picked up by the Rams, finally getting an opportunity with an NFL team.

Perez split minutes with DeAndre Johnson this season, but took the majority of snaps down the stretch. With Johnson injured for a few weeks, it allowed Perez to take control, and he excelled.

The QB finished the season with 1,200 yards, and nine touchdowns – with only one interception. He was phenomenal from the get go, being one of the most accurate passers in the USFL.

Perez led the Generals to the USFL playoffs, as they finished with a league best 9-1 record. In the semi-finals, New Jersey fell short to Philadelphia – but Perez put up solid numbers regardless.

One of his season highlights came in week six, as the team battled the Houston Gamblers. Down by five, with a couple of minutes left, Perez led the team down the field – before sneaking the ball into the end zone himself to win the game.

Interestingly enough, Perez has played with just about every modern spring league there is. He participated in the AAF, XFL, TSL, and of course the USFL. Now, he gets to pursue his NFL dreams with the Rams.
