Just because the NFL season began doesn’t mean the USFL to NFL signings are over. Brandon Wright, punter for the Memphis Showboats, has signed with the Los Angeles Rams practice squad.

Brandon Wright has been one of the top punters in the USFL through two seasons. In 2022, he played with the Tampa Bay Bandits, and was nominated as the All-USFL punter that year.
During the 2022 season, Brandon averaged 48.6 yards per punt, with a whopping 76 yard punt during week one against Pittsburgh.

In 2023, Brandon Wright was outstanding. He averaged 45.5 yards per punt, and saw twelve of his boots land inside the opponents twenty yard line. In addition, he had a 76 yard punt this past season as well.
Considering that quality special teams players are not always easy to come by, the Memphis Showboats have been privileged to have the services of Wright for the past two USFL seasons.

Brandon Wright is the 41st USFL player to sign an NFL contract this year, once again proving that the league was filled with quality talent.
So far, the Memphis Showboats have seen four athletes head to the NFL, including:
TE Daniel Helm
LB Jordan Ferguson
DB Nehemiah Shelton
This isn’t the first time the Los Angeles Rams looked to the USFL for a punter. Last year, they signed Generals punter Brock Miller.
