The second week of The Spring League is in the books, and it took a little longer to get here than expected. The South Division was set to take place Friday night, but in a last-minute move the league moved the games to Monday night. Due to the weather in the Houston area the games were hit with a rain delay, ultimately forcing the matchup between the Jousters and Blues to move once again to Tuesday night.
Overall it was another great week of TSL action, and the proof is in the numbers. The Spring League drew in more viewers for its second week on FOX, once again breaking it’s previous total viewership.
Alphas vs Conquerors
The first match of the week saw two undefeated teams looking to add another win, with the Alphas battling the Conquerors. The match was fairly even throughout the game, coming down to one last play for the Conq’s.
With time running out, the Conquerors attempted an onside kick, but they could not get the ball back. With the Alphas back in control of the ball, they ran the clock out and stayed undefeated on the season. Both teams played great, and the Conquerors made a valiant effort at making a comeback win but came up just a bit short.

Linemen vs Aviators
The matchup between the Linemen and Aviators was the first to take place on FS2 this season. The game started out slow for both teams, but in the end only one was able to get some offense going.
When both teams are looking for their first win, it’s clear that only one can come out on top. This week, that was the Linemen, meaning the Aviators will look to week 3 to get one in the win column. When you have a short season like The Spring League, two losses may be enough to put a championship run out of reach.

Sea Lions vs Generals
Monday’s matchup saw the Sea Lions taking on the Generals in a rainy Rice Stadium. The South Division games were originally set to take place Friday night, but in a twist of events we got Monday Night football early in the year.
This turned out to be one of the best, if not the best games of the season so far. For the first time in league history, the Generals were unable to secure the win. Ryan Mallett did not look as fluid as he did in week 1, but you can expect some adjustments to take place over the course of this week.

Blues vs Jousters
The last game of The Spring League’s second week comes a little later than expected. Originally, the matchup between the Blues and Jousters was set to take place Friday night at 10pm. Then, both of the South Division games were moved to Monday night, a first for the league. After a lengthy rain delay last night, the game was bumped to Tuesday night at 8pm ET on FS1.
Although delayed, the action finally arrived. With a win, the Blues could stay undefeated and lead the division. On the other end, the Jousters are looking to rebound and secure their first win.
The Blues just could not find their offensive rhythm in this game, plus the Jousters defense came out strong. We saw action from both Perez and Anderson for the Jousters, both producing points in the end-zone. The Blues could not re-produce the success they saw last week. Missing a few field goals and failing to get into the end-zone the entire game.
