Week four marks the beginning of the second half of the 2021 TSL season, and things are starting to come together. This week we saw some spectacular matchups, and even our first overtime game. With a short six-week season, the Championship game is hard to come by, and we’re starting to see who the contenders may be this year.
If you missed any of the action this week, check out the highlights and standings for week four of The Spring League below!
Linemen vs Conquerors
Leading into this matchups, both teams looked to be hitting their stride. The action on the field did not let down. The Linemen and the Conquerors played so even that the we saw our first overtime game.
Ryan Willis really shined for the Linemen this week, becoming the first TSL quarterback to achieve 400 passing yards in a single game. Tra Minter ultimately secured the game winning touchdown, putting the Linemen at 3-1 on the season.

Alphas vs Aviators
Halfway through the season and the Aviators are still looking for their first win, and this week the Alphas were looking to get back into the win column. In a scenario like this, other than a tie, someone would have to lose. Brian Lewerke and the Alphas ensured it would not be them. The Alphas came out strong on both offense and defense, almost keeping the Aviators scoreless.
At the end of the day, the Aviators move to 0-4, and the Alphas are now even on the season at 2-2.

Blues vs Sea Lions
Both the Blues and Sea Lions wanted to use this game to get back to .500 on the season. In another hard fought TSL match, we saw both teams giving it their best. Connor Kaegi would get his first start of the season for the Blues, with Francois moving to the Generals. Kaegi looked great, but could not secure the victory for his team.

Jousters vs Generals
Wrapping up week four saw the Generals and the Jousters duking out for the top spot in the South. Ryan Mallet was unable to get his offense moving as he had in pervious weeks, plus the Jousters defense came out to play. Couple that with the stellar performances of Luis Perez and Cam Scarlett, and ultimately it was not in the cards for the Generals to take the W.
The Jousters played like a championship team last week, and with only two weeks left in the season they may have a shot to make it a reality.

Now that we’re into the second half of the season, things are really starting to heat up. Only two weeks remain before The Spring League championship takes place at Rice Stadium. Other than the Aviators, the rest of the teams still have a chance at winning out and getting an opportunity to play an extra week.
