Green Bay Packers Signing Birmingham Stallions C Cole Schneider

At this point, essentially every Birmingham Stallions player is going to the NFL. Center Cole Schneider has just signed with the Green Bay Packers, joining former QB Alex McGough in the NFC North.

Cole Schneider was signed by the Birmingham Stallions just a couple weeks before the 2023 USFL season began. He quickly won a starting role, eventually playing in all twelve games for the Stallions.

He played a key role in one of the most proficient offenses we’ve seen in the USFL, with Birmingham going 10-2 en route to another title.

Now, after a successful workout with the Green Bay Packers, he will have an opportunity to pursue his dreams in the NFL.

The Birmingham Stallions to NFL pipeline has been quite busy this offseason:

QB Alex McGough (Green Bay)
WR Austin Watkins (Cleveland)
WR Davion Davis (Arizona)
KR/WR Deon Cain (Philadelphia)
TE Jace Sternberger (Buffalo)
K Brandon Aubrey (Dallas)
CB Lorenzo Burns (Cleveland)

DT Khalil Davis is going to be signing with an NFL team, having his USFL contract terminated. We’ll have to wait and see where he lands, most recently having a workout with the Houston Texans.

In addition, TE La’Michael Pettway had a workout today with the Indianapolis Colts.

Had it not been for the platform – and the national exposure – that the USFL provided Schneider with, who knows if this opportunity would have come along.
