Ford Field Reportedly Set To Host USFL Northern Hub In 2023

The past couple months have been buzzing with rumors surrounding the USFL and a potential hub in Michigan. Now, it is being reported that the league is heading to Detroit. Ford Field is expected to be announced as a hub location for the USFL on Thursday, per Tony Paul of The Detroit News.

Right now, nothing has been officially confirmed by the league. However, a Detroit hub at Ford Field certainly makes sense. Michigan has been rumored as a 2023 hub for quite a while at this point. In fact, signs point to both the Michigan Panthers and the Philadelphia Stars playing in Michigan during season two.

Tony Paul also reports that Detroit’s mayor, Mike Duggan, will be attending the event. FOX Sports CEO Eric Shanks should be joining him as well.

The Michigan Panthers will look to get back on track in season two. 2022 didn’t quite go their way. The team finished with a 2-8 record, losing close game after close game. Plenty of talent abounds on the Panthers squad, but they failed to put it together. Jeff Fisher will look to improve upon this record in 2023.

A USFL hub at Ford Field would be a great move for the league. The Michigan Panthers drew quite the crowd back in the 1980’s. If there’s one thing about Michigan sports fans, they are some of the most loyal in the country.
