USFL 2024 Offseason Timeline | USFL Contract Details

Details On USFL 2024 Player Contracts & Offseason Timeline

With season two of the USFL behind us, the focus shifts to what 2024 will look like for the league. Last year at this time, we didn’t know exactly what to expect. That was, in fact, the first offseason for a spring football league in modern history.

However, now that the USFL has successfully made it through two seasons, there is much more clarity regarding the outlook for season three. As expected, it’s nearly identical to the timeline seen between seasons one and two.

Firstly, USFL player contracts for the 2024 season will look similar to what they were in 2023:

– The average salary for an active player will be approximately $61,910
– This figure includes Training Camp ($700/week), Housing Stipend ($1,600/month), and 401k
– Active players who make it through the Championship, and win, can make upwards of $78,000 in total salary
– Players under contract can sign with NFL teams up until December 31st, 2023

In addition, the training camp roster size will be the same, with 58 total players on each team. For the regular season, teams will feature 50 players: 42 active, and 8 inactive for game day. This is an adjustment from this past year, which saw 40 active and 10 inactive during the season.

Offseason Timeline

Since the USFL has already gone through one offseason, they are sticking to a familiar formula, which makes sense. Everything went smoothly from an operations perspective – even with the coaching changes – so, one should expect things to be even more organized this time around.

USFL Offseason Events:

August: NFL Training Camp Evaluations
September-January: Agent Player Evaluations, NCAA Evaluations, College Bowl Game Evaluations
February: 2024 USFL Collegiate Draft
March: Training Camp Begins
April: USFL Season Three Kicks Off

To no surprise, the offseason will be relatively quiet for the next few months, as teams analyze and evaluate prospects for the 2024 season.

At the same time, the USFL is currently exploring new markets to head into for season three, so that is a storyline to watch heading into the fall.

After a successful Collegiate Draft in 2023, the USFL will host another next February. We saw multiple rookies make an impact this season. It’s a unique opportunity for athletes who may not get drafted by the NFL, as a few rookies signed with their respective teams midseason after the NFL draft passed.

Right now, all eyes are on USFL athletes who are on their way to the NFL after a remarkable second season. Stay up to date on all USFL to NFL signings with our official tracker.
