The inaugural USFL season is officially in the books, and now all eyes are on season 2. With the matchups complete for the year, players are now free to start negotiations with NFL franchises.
Today, it looks like we have our first USFL player getting a shot to move up to the NFL. Don Kleiman reports that Chris Odom (Houston Gamblers) is set to work out for 3 NFL teams, in hopes of landing a spot on the roster.

The Gamblers record does not represent the kind of play the team had under their belt. They were leading a majority of the games in the second half, and even lost a handful on the final play of the game. One things that shined for Houston was their defense.
In fact, Chris Odom was named defensive player of the year, acruing 10.5 sacks over the 10-week season.
One of the main goals of spring football leagues to create a launching pad for these players careers. Now that we learned one player is getting a look, we expect to hear more in the near future.
