Case Cookus Teases Philadelphia Stars Return for USFL Season 2

At the end of the inaugural USFL season there were two teams left standing; the Birmingham Stallions and Philadelphia Stars.

The Championship game did not disappoint, with the Stallions narrowly edging out the Stars 33-30. Many have argued that had Case Cookus not been injured near the end of the game that the Stars would have been the ones hoisting the trophy.

With less than two months to go until the USFL season 2, it looks as if one of their biggest stars is planning a comeback.

Earlier today, Stars QB Case Cookus took to Twitter and many are taking his post as a hint of his return.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect. The USFL is set to hold their draft near the end of the month, and with a QB in the mix, the Philly coaches can focus on other areas for team additions.

During the USFL’s 2022 season, Cookus was sensational. He stepped in for the injured Bryan Scott in week three, and put on a show. Cookus led the Stars to a 6-4 record, ultimately helping the team claim the North Division after a win in the semi-finals versus the New Jersey Generals.

In the Championship, Case was fantastic. He threw for over 200 yards and three touchdowns, dominating all night long. Unfortunately, he suffered a broken leg down the stretch. This gave Birmingham the momentum they needed, as the Stallions won the inaugural USFL Championship.

UPDATE: Shortly after publication the social media account for the Philadelphia Stars confirmed Case Cookus will be returning for season 2.
