Buffalo Bills Signing All-USFL Birmingham Stallions TE Jace Sternberger

Buffalo Bills Signing All-USFL Stallions TE Jace Sternberger

Once again, the Birmingham Stallions have produced another NFL prospect. All-USFL TE Jace Sternberger is signing with the Buffalo Bills, per Aaron Wilson. This happened just one hour after the Arizona Cardinals signed star WR Davion Davis.

This is now the sixth USFL player to sign with an NFL team. WR Deon Cain has still not officially signed with anyone yet, but he will be the seventh. Of the six to sign so far, five of them have been from the camp of the Stallions.

Jace Sternberger had a lot to prove in the USFL this year. The former third round pick for the Green Bay Packers was seen as one of the top athletes to join the league. He didn’t disappoint.

Sternberger was sensational, setting a modern USFL record with seven receiving touchdowns. In ten games, he racked up 517 yards while consistently being a force for Skip Holtz’ offense.

During the season, MVP Alex McGough spoke about how important Sternberger was to the Birmingham Stallions. His ability to be in the right place at the right time was key to the unit’s success.

After a successful workout with the Buffalo Bills today, it appears that the team will be signing him as training camp gets underway.

Had it not been for the platform – and the national exposure – that the USFL provided him with, who knows if this opportunity would have come along.
