Another Birmingham Stallion is headed to the NFL. Brian Allen, a terrific cornerback for the Stallions in the USFL, has signed a deal with the New Orleans Saints. According to his agency, he had a tryout with the team, which ultimately led to the contract offer.

During the USFL’s 2022 season, Allen was one of the hardest hitting defenders in the league. He finished the year with 40 total tackles, multiple pass breakups, and an interception.

Brian was one of the leaders on Birmingham’s defense, ultimately playing a vital role in their Championship victory against Philadelphia.
This is not the first time that Allen will be with an NFL organization. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2017-2019, but hardly saw the field at all. In 2020 and 2021, he spent time with both the Cleveland Browns, and the San Francisco 49ers.
Now, due to his solid performances in the USFL, Allen has an opportunity to pursue his NFL dreams with New Orleans. Had it not been for the national exposure that the USFL provided Brian with, who knows if this would have been possible.
