On a slow summer afternoon in 1983 as a kid, I stumbled upon the original USFL on TV and was instantly hooked. There was something about their upstart, underdog bravado, both on and off the field that always appealed to me. Watching them go up against the NFL influenced me to become an attorney, representing small business owners facing long odds. But like many of its original fans, I have often wondered what could have been had they stayed in the spring. Now, nearly 40 years later, I am thrilled to be rooting for them to succeed one more time.
